Guidelines:
DAY OF:
1. Read the guidelines below.
2. Fill out the form/contract agreement form (please be sure to read the terms and agreement before hitting OK)
3. Get any themes, symbols, and color choices to me 2 months prior to the event.
Guidelines:
- When choosing what you want me to paint, please keep in mind I have a limited amount of time to create something, so please keep it as broadly themed as possible. (ex: instead of telling me you want a horse in the right corner of the painting that is leaping in the air, tell me you want a horse in it)
- Give me at least 3-6 colors you want in it. The colors I put in the painting will be varying shades of those colors.
- Realize that people are going to buy something they will want to hang in their home. So if it is too political, or office looking, they may not bid on it. (Example, if you want education as your theme, choose something that is symbolic of education, like a tree that has strong roots and might have symbols instead of leaves… (Instead of choosing a school building with an apple and a ruler)
- I usually paint to the energy that is felt in the room that day… The charm of live paintings is that they are impromptu. I tend to practice beforehand a considerable amount of time to ensure that I am well prepared for the event and that the most beautiful painting I can possibly produce for the event can happen in the short amount of time.
- If you want calligraphy in it, please keep the words limited to 2 words or less.
- Please email me a list of symbols and themes you have no later than 2 months before so I can prepare. I will choose a few from the list you send me to incorporate into the painting.
- In special circumstances, a frame can be added for an additional cost.
- Minimum amount of onstage painting time needed is 2.5 hours, 3 hours is preferable.
- IF you can have inspiring music playing as people walk into the event while I begin my painting, it is best as it makes the audience feel like they are part of the journey of the painting. Feel free to ask me for recommendations.
- The AUCTIONEER is what makes the live painting sell well. Its also best to have someone in the audience who already knows they want the painting to begin the first bid so that it encourages others to also bid.
- It is not Advisable to leave the Live Painting Auction till the very end of the event as a lot of people will have left by then.
DAY OF:
- Please have an adequate spotlight aimed at the canvas the entire time.
- Have a small table for art supplies available on stage
- I will arrive 2 - 3 hours prior to the start of the event to setup.
