What is the Sacred Arts Festival? The Sacred Arts Festival is a Religious Art Festival put on by the Anaheim Arts Council. It provides many curious locals the chance to go on a 1 day arts pass to multiple centers of worship. For more info: http://www.anaheimartscouncil.com/sacredarts/ What are the requirements to be in the Islamic Arts section of the Sacred Arts Festival? Your work must exhibit Islamic motifs, calligraphy, symbols, or architecture. Any medium is acceptable. What is required of the Artist? The Artist must: A) Make arrangements to set up their own artwork on March 21, 2015 between 8:00 am and 9:15am and are encouraged to stay the entirety of the day to interact with the community. B) Pack up and clean up their work at 4:00pm or make arrangements for somebody to pick up the work. Any artwork left at the Mosque is the responsibility of none other than the artist. The Mosque does not take any responsibility for lost or damaged work. Can the Artist sell their work? You are welcome to have business cards out and people are welcome to inquire if something is for sale but we discourage the obvious selling of any art. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work to hundreds of people and if they are interested, they will ask you. We encourage you to stay by your art to engage the community. Remember, this is a learning experience for them as much as it is exposure for you. I have a neat art piece I bought at a store, can I submit that? No. We are only accepting handmade Art from local artists. Please do not try to submit something that was made in China. What time is the exhibit? The exhibit is from 10am - 4pm. Artists must have their space all setup and ready to go by 9:15am. I have an art piece that is cultural.. Can I submit that? We are trying to stay away from culture and closer to the art of Islam. Please do not submit any Syrian Alleyway pieces, spice bazaar pieces, or anything that might look cultural. |
